PRPVFX is an Emmy Award nominee based in Auckland and is the second largest VFX company in New Zealand behind Weta Digital. PRPVFX was established in 1998 as the matte painting department of Pacific Renasissance Pictures who, at the time, were producing Hercules and Xena television shows. The VFX for those shows shifted from LA to NZ as our department expanded in staff and capabilities. After the end of Xena series 6, the Visual Effects department continued as the independant entity it is today. Client needs are serviced with very fast turnaround, allowing more feedback opportunities during development of the work prior to delivery, and facilitated by secure FTP file transfer facilities, allowing video reviews to be imported into the edit wherever the editing suite may be in the world. Multiple terabytes of framestorage are online within the facility with all data protected by RAID disk arrays and redundant UPS power supplies.
